Husbands, who had opened the scoring for the home side in the first minute of the game, was shown a straight red for his challenge on Forest midfielder Perch in the second-half.
He said: "I slightly overran the ball, but I could see Perch come in. I thought I got there before him and made the challenge and won the ball. Then the ref blew.
"For him (Perch) to jump up and run over is unprofessional. It is not something I would do or advise anyone else to do.
"I thought the referee was going to give me a yellow card, but I think when he (Perch) ran over he changed his mind. Unfortunately for me the referee has seen the wrong thing and made the wrong decision."
