A widely-reported transfer 'embargo' imposed for breaches of Financial Fair Play rules does, in fact, leave lots of room for Freedman to work with and recruit new players during the close season.
That means one of the staples of any supporter's summer, the transfer rumour, will still be very much on the cards and the City Ground boss is hoping to hit the ground running with two new signings before the football world heads off on holiday.
"We are working very, very hard to get a couple of new additions over the line in May," said Freedman, quoted in the Nottingham Post.
"We want to make sure we are a little bit more solid in certain areas. We cannot do too much until we move players on as well, though. We need the market to open up."
