The 27-year-old, who is believed to be one of Forest's top earners, is out of contract this month and could stun Reds supporters by signing for the Premiership new-boys.
His agent Jonathan Stanger had told the Nottingham Evening Post at the start of June how Forest had offered new but reduced terms for the defensive playmaker.
He has been linked with Portsmouth, Charlton and Bolton in recent weeks but it is now thought he is likely to move to The Walkers Stadium which would upset the majority of Forest fans.
