One of football's success stories over the past couple of seasons, the unfashionable Millers have leapt above more illustrious neighbours such as Sheffield United with two promotions on the field and the move to their smart New York Stadium off it.
Often controversial, manager Evans has added more notches to his CV since being hired as the man most likely to realise Rotherham's ambitions.
And, although finding wins has been tough over the past couple of months, the Scot is enjoying life at the higher level.
He told the Yorkshire Post recently: "It is tough in the Championship, but I would rather Rotherham were having it tough in the Championship than having it very tough in League Two prior to me walking in.
"Two years ago, we were playing the likes of Gillingham, AFC Wimbledon and Accrington Stanley. Compare that to Cardiff, (Nottingham) Forest and the likes of Wigan this month."
