Chairman Nigel Doughty looks to end the speculation over Gary Megson's future by stating his full support for the under-fire boss.
He says at the start of the month: "This will take time, but Gary has my full financial support.
"This is a long job and if we have the wrong man then that is costly for me and painful for all of us as Forest fans.
"At that stage I will hold up my hands and say that we got it wrong - but we need to give Gary a couple of years to finish the job he started last year."
However, the end comes within three matches with a 3-0 defeat away to Oldham proving the final straw as Megson goes by mutual consent.
Caretaker managers Frank Barlow and Ian McParland break the away-day hoodoo immediately with a 2-0 win at Port Vale and February ends with a 7-1 home win against Swindon.
