"In Stan Collymore, I have a player with power, pace and a massive will to win," said Peter Reid, coach of the England side ahead of the game at Bramall Lane.
"Scotland didn't know what to do with him at Southampton (in the legends last game), he scored one and could have easily had a hat-trick.
"I really feel that in adding a player of Stan's calibre, I have sent a message out to Germany that this is a game we're aiming to win."
Collymore's inclusion as an England legend comes despite him winning only three international caps during his career, against Japan and Brazil in the summer of 1995 and as a substitute against Moldova two years later.
