The 31-year-old is out of contract at Stoke City in the summer and has seen his first-team chances limited in recent weeks by the loan signings of Salif Diao, Patrick Berger and Lee Hendrie.
Britannia Stadium boss Tony Pulis has not commented on the player's future but said: "What I will say is that Dave has been first-class since losing his place in the side."
"It's never easy when a regular starter loses out like that, but he has remained his usual self around the place."
