Confirming that he held a 'private' conversation with Nottingham Forest about the player some weeks ago, Swansea chairman Jenkins has poured cold water on fresh speculation about a move to the City Ground.
"Now that our new manager (Brendan Rodgers) is in place, we will be looking to start discussions with Darren Pratley over a new contract," Jenkins told his club's official website. "I had a private conversation with Nottingham Forest a few weeks ago which, as we agreed, will stay private.
"I assume that today's story is an attempt by agents to put pressure on us. It is certainly not a new story, so I am very disappointed. But I can state quite categorically that we will not be pressurised or bullied by anyone.
"We will deal with things the right way for our football club. I can assure supporters that nobody will leave this club unless the deal is right for us and every other option has been exhausted."
The Reds opening day opponents Burnley meanwhile are set to look elsewhere for a new goalkeeper after a move stalled for Newcastle youngster Fraser Forster.
