Saturday's 4-4 draw at Blackpool left the Reds in 10th place after their positive start to life under the management of Dougie Freedman.
Twelve points separate them from a play-off place but, with any thoughts of being dragged into a battle at the bottom now receeding, Freedman's side should be able to play with confidence for the remainder of the campaign.
The final third of fixtures begins with two home matches, against Bolton Wanderers on Saturday afternoon and then current league leaders Bournemouth the following Wednesday.
