A determined defensive display, marshalled by goalkeeper Lee Camp ensured that Sheffield United could not find a winner at Bramall Lane, preserving in the process the Reds' unbeaten away record.
"He's a first-class lad and keeper," was assistant manager David Kelly's verdict on Camp after the game.
"He works hard on the training ground and made some really good saves tonight."
Kelly's opposite number Gary Speed commented: "We've got a lot of positives to take from the game - if it wasn't for the keeper it could have been 2-0 or 3-0."
