Yeovil's 2-1 defeat by Nottingham Forest left them looking over their shoulders at a place in League Two next season and manager Thompson admitted: "We have two home games left and we need to win at least one of them.
He added: "I'd have liked us to have created more chances, although I cannot complain about the endeavour.
"The commitment was great and while the result may be devastating, you have to take the positives. Otherwise we'd all slit our throats."
