A string of outstanding saves from Brighton keeper Michels Kuipers denied Nottingham Forest the win that would have boosted their League One promotion hopes.
The Dutch keeper simply refused to be beaten as he produced a superb performance to hold Colin Calderwood's rampant Reds at bay and see the visitors to a 0-0 draw at the City Ground.
Kuipers earned his clean sheet with dramatic saves to deny Kris Commons, Matt Thornhill and Luke Chambers to leave Forest frustrated.
It should have been a lightening start for the visitors after a stray pass from Kelvin Wilson left the Forest defence out-numbered.
Paul Smith made a smart save to block Steve Thomson's resulting shot, after the striker had charged into the penalty area, but Nicky Forster fired badly wide when presented with an open goal as the ball bounced loose.
Forest's main threat came through the vision of Commons, who repeatedly picked out the surging runs of Nathan Tyson and it was a cross from the Forest winger that picked out the striker on the edge of the six-yard box, where it took a strong challenge from Tommy Elphick to clear the danger.
Commons then launched himself into a mazy run that saw him ride two challenges and power through on goal, only to be denied by a superb save from Kuipers, who was more alert than his flat-footed defence as he raced off his line to block.
Forest pressured again as a Julian Bennett cross from the left picked out Tyson at the near post, where the striker flicked a header across goal to the far side and picked out Thornhill, the teenager, who rattled the foot of the post with a close-range shot.
A quick Commons free-kick from the left side then picked out Chambers as he rose high on the edge of the six-yard box to plant a firm header goalwards, only for Kuipers to produce another breathtaking stop to claw the ball away.
The Brighton keeper did not have long before he was called into action again, this time as he acrobatically palmed a clever Commons chip over the bar.
Smith was tested at the other end as an Elphick header from a corner was pushed on to the bar by the keeper, who reacted impressively to ensure the score remained level at half-time.
Forest threatened again immediately after the interval, only for Thornhill to fire wildly over the bar after being picked out by Bennett.
While, when Wes Morgan did get a header on target, Kuipers was there again to palm around the post.
And, when the keeper was finally beaten, in the 85th minute, still Forest were denied as a curling shot from substitute Lewis McGugan bounced away off the inside of the post.
